The NGL 3200 Project in the West Karoun Area is a strategic development for Iran’s energy sector, supporting both natural gas processing and petrochemical production. Managed by the Petroleum Engineering Development Company, a subsidiary of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, this large-scale initiative has been awarded to SADAF Company through an EPCF (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Financing) contract.
The project’s main goal is to process 500 MMSCFD (million standard cubic feet per day) of sour gas sourced from major oil fields in West Karoun, including Darquain, Yadavaran, Jofeir, Bande Karkhe, South Azadegan, and North Azadegan. This advanced plant is designed to extract valuable C2+ NGL cuts (natural gas liquids), produce lean gas for distribution or further processing, and recover elemental sulfur as a key byproduct. Each product stream supports Iran’s domestic energy supply and international exports, while also contributing to environmental management and operational efficiency.
Tehran Raymand Consulting Engineers has been selected for the engineering and procurement of two critical process units within the NGL 3200 plant: the Gas Sweetening Unit (Unit 200) and the Sulfur Recovery Unit (Unit 600).
The integration of these units enhances the overall efficiency and sustainability of the NGL 3200 project, providing reliable gas sweetening, sulfur recovery, and emissions control in one of Iran’s key petrochemical hubs.
