Project Description

The Petroleum Engineering Development Company, a subsidiary of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, has awarded the West Karoun Area NGL 3200 project to the SADAF company under an EPCF (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Financing) contract.

Purpose:

• The plant will receive 500 MMSCFD of sour gas from the West Karoun oil field, which includes Darquain, Yadavaran, Jofeir, Bande Karkhe, South Azadegan, and North Azadegan.
• The project will process and produce:
  • C2+ NGL cuts
  • Lean Gas
  • Sulfur

Engineering and Procurement Contracts

Gas Sweetening Unit (Unit 200):

• Awarded to Tehran Raymand Consulting Engineers.
• Designed to reduce hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide content in the inlet sour feed gas to the NGL recovery unit.
• Consists of two identical Gas Sweetening Units in two separate gas flow sections.

Sulfur Recovery Unit (Unit 600):

• Awarded to Tehran Raymand Consulting Engineers.
• Designed to produce liquid sulfur from the acid gas generated in the Gas Sweetening Unit.
• Includes a sulfur solidification package to solidify the liquid sulfur.
• Off-gas is burned in an incinerator package, considering environmental limitations.
