Sulphur Coated Urea (SCU) – Project Overview

Khorasan Petrochemical Company (KHPC), a key producer in Iran’s petrochemical and fertilizer industry, has identified an increasing demand for Sulphur Coated Urea (SCU). SCU fertilizer is known for its slow and controlled nutrient release, making it especially effective in paddy fields and high-value crop applications across Iran and the wider region.

Production Capacity

The facility is designed to produce 90,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA) of SCU fertilizer, with all products packaged in durable bags for easy handling and distribution.

Raw Materials Used

SCU fertilizer production requires these primary raw materials:

• Urea – Sourced in both prill and granular forms
• Sulfur – Supplied as powder
• Wax – Provided in solid form for coating
