Odorant Production Unit
In line with NIGC’s goal to contribute effectively to the development of the Iranian oil and gas industry and alleviate operational difficulties, their Research, Development, and Technology Department has initiated the establishment of an “Odorant Production Unit.”
Recognizing the excellent reputation of the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) for providing engineering solutions to the oil and gas industries through advanced research and development in process simulation, NIGC and RIPI have signed a contract to prepare the Basic package and EPC tender document for an Odorant Production Unit. This unit, with a capacity of 800 tons per year, will be designed and installed in the South Pars Gas Field Phase 1 complex, located in southwest Iran.
Process Sections
The process consists of the following sections:
- Pre-wash section
- Extraction section
- Regeneration section
- Mercaptan distillations
- Product drying section
Project Management
To ensure the proper execution of this project and the acquisition of the necessary knowledge and skills, NIGC has appointed Tehran Raymand Consulting Engineers as the managing consultant. Their role will be to review the relevant process technology efforts and engineering concepts, providing executive companies with flexible, accurate, and efficient technologies that enhance their bottom line.
