The National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) has devised the Lab Sefid Gas Gathering and Injection Project to curb the flaring of associated gas from the Lab Sefid Oil Production plant, situated approximately 50 km northeast of Dezful, Iran. The project aims to expand the existing Lab Sefid Oil Production plant by incorporating new units and pipelines to gather, compress, and inject the released gas.
Project Objectives
- Reduce Gas Flaring: Mitigate the environmental impact by curbing the flaring of associated gas.
- Enhance Gas Utilization: Gather, compress, and inject associated gas into the Lab Sefid well no.7.
- Supplementary Gas Source: Utilize Bangestan gas from well no.5 due to the insufficient associated gas from the Lab Sefid oil field.
Project Components
Expansion Units:
Sweetening Unit:
- Designed to sweeten 17,000 standard barrels per day of sour Lab Sefid / Palangan crude oil.
Gas Compression & Injection Unit:
- Compressed gas will be injected into Lab Sefid well no.7.
- Maximum required injection rate: 27,000 MMSCFD.
Pipeline Facilities:
Gas Transfer Pipeline:
- Transport Bangestan gas from well no.5 to the production unit, approximately 5.5 km away.
Injection Pipeline:
- Transfer compressed gas from the Compression Unit to Lab Sefid well no.7, approximately 6 km away.
Additional Facilities:
- Instrument/Plant Air System
- Fuel Oil/Gas System
- Closed Drain System
- Flaring System
- Fire/Potable/Service Water Network
- Waste Water Treatment
- Chemical Injection
Process Flow
Gas Gathering:
- Associated gas from the Lab Sefid Oil Production plant will be gathered.
Compression:
- The gathered gas will be compressed in multiple stages to achieve the required pressure.
Injection:
- Compressed gas will be injected into Lab Sefid well no.7 using the Injection Pipeline.
Supplementary Gas:
- Bangestan gas from well no.5 will be transferred via the Gas Transfer Pipeline to supplement the associated gas.
