Gas Sweetening Pilot Plant – South Pars Gas Field
The Gas Sweetening Pilot Plant Project is a strategic initiative by the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) aimed at advancing the Iranian oil and gas industry through innovation in gas processing technology. This project directly addresses operational challenges in gas treatment by developing, testing, and implementing state-of-the-art gas sweetening processes designed for deployment in Iran’s major gas fields.
The pilot plant will be installed in the renowned South Pars Gas Field, located in southwest Iran. The focus is on developing and refining gas sweetening technology to remove impurities such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from natural gas, ensuring compliance with product specifications and environmental regulations.
Key Participants
- National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC): Leading the project as part of its mandate to enhance Iran’s gas processing and export capabilities.
- Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI): Providing research, development, and engineering expertise, with a proven track record in advanced process simulation and computerized engineering.
- Tehran Raymand Consulting Engineers: Serving as a key consultant, tasked with reviewing process technology efforts, engineering concepts, and ensuring project success through rigorous technical evaluation.
Project Objectives and Scope
