Gachsaran I & II Gas Gathering and Injection Units

The Gachsaran I & II Gas Gathering and Injection Units Project is a key energy infrastructure development supporting oil and gas production optimization in southwest Iran. This project enhances gas management, environmental protection, and operational efficiency for the Gachsaran oilfields—one of the country’s most prolific hydrocarbon regions.

The project is organized into two primary sections:

  • Low-pressure compressor station of Gachsaran I: Designed to gather low-pressure gas from production units and compress it for reinjection or further processing.
  • Low-pressure compressor station of Gachsaran II: Handles gas streams from additional production units, expanding gas recovery and utilization capabilities for the field.

Main Units and Facilities

  • Gas Pipeline: Purpose-built pipelines to transfer excess or associated gas from the production units to the compressor stations, ensuring safe and efficient gas movement within the facility.
  • Compression Station: The heart of the system, providing the compression needed to inject recovered gas back into the reservoir or to route it for further utilization, reducing flaring and supporting reservoir pressure maintenance.
  • Electrical System: Integrated power supply and distribution systems to support continuous and reliable operation of all units and automation systems.
  • Control System: Advanced control and automation solutions for real-time monitoring, process management, and safety control throughout the gas gathering and injection network.
  • Instrument Air System: Compressed air network supporting instrumentation, process controls, and critical safety devices.
  • Closed Drain System: Environmental protection system designed to safely collect and manage any hydrocarbon or chemical drains from operational units, preventing contamination.
  • Firewater Network: Dedicated firewater distribution for emergency response, supporting safety and risk mitigation across the facility.
  • Chemical Injection: Systems for dosing chemicals needed for process integrity, corrosion inhibition, and operational reliability.

By integrating advanced compression technology and robust facility infrastructure, the Gachsaran I & II project significantly improves gas utilization, environmental stewardship, and field production performance for Iran’s energy sector.
