FARZANEGAN Gas Condensate Refinery Project – Assaluyeh, Iran

FARZANEGAN ENERGY PARS Co., as the employer and project owner, is developing a world-class gas condensate refinery with a design capacity of 40,000 barrels per stream day (BPSD). The refinery will be constructed on the Iranian coast of the Persian Gulf, in the strategic Assaluyeh energy corridor, approximately 270 kilometers southeast of Bandar Bushehr. The facility is positioned to capitalize on the region’s abundant hydrocarbon resources and well-developed energy infrastructure.

The scope of the FARZANEGAN Gas Condensate Refinery Project covers all aspects of detailed engineering services, procurement engineering services, and site engineering services, ensuring that the plant is designed, constructed, and commissioned according to the highest industry standards for safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Main Processing and Utility Units

  • Unit 01: Gas Condensate Pre Fractionation Unit (GCFU) – Initial fractionation and conditioning of raw gas condensate feed.
  • Unit 02: Full Range Naphtha Hydrotreating Unit (NHT) – Produces treated naphtha products by removing impurities and enhancing product quality.
  • Unit 03: Solvent Production Unit – Manufactures industrial-grade solvents from selected condensate fractions.
  • Unit 07: Hydrogen Production Unit – Generates hydrogen required for hydrotreating and other refinery operations.
  • Unit 09: Sulfur Recovery Unit – Recovers elemental sulfur from process streams to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Unit 11: Nitrogen Production System – Supplies nitrogen for inerting, purging, and safety applications.
  • Unit 20: Off-Site Unit – Includes tankage and product transfer pumps for safe and efficient product storage and handling.
  • Unit 21: Steam and Condensate Unit – Provides process steam and manages condensate return for plant utilities.
  • Unit 22: Water System Unit – Incorporates the Cooling Water Package, Plant and Potable Water Package, and Demineralized Water Package for all water supply needs.
  • Unit 23: Fuel Oil and Fuel Gas – Manages supply and distribution of fuel oil and fuel gas for process and utility requirements.
  • Unit 24: Plant and Instrument Air – Provides compressed air for operations and instrumentation.
  • Unit 25: Flare Unit – Safely disposes of process gases through controlled flaring, supporting operational safety.
  • Unit 26: Waste Water Treatment Unit – Treats process and sanitary wastewater to meet environmental standards.
  • Unit 30: Product Truck Loading Station – Facilities for safe loading and unloading of products onto trucks for distribution.
  • Unit 32: Fire Water Unit – Dedicated fire water system for plant safety and emergency response.
  • Unit 45: Interconnection – Integrates all plant systems for efficient operation and communication between units.
  • Unit 50: Pipeline – Pipeline system for product transfer, export, or integration with regional energy networks.
  • Industrial Buildings: Process control centers, workshops, laboratories, and operational offices.
  • Non-Industrial Buildings: Administrative offices, staff accommodation, canteens, and support facilities.

Project Timeline

The FARZANEGAN Gas Condensate Refinery Project is scheduled for engineering, procurement, and construction from March 2024 to September 2026.

Upon completion, this refinery will bolster Iran’s capacity to process gas condensate into value-added products, support energy export strategies, and drive regional economic growth in Assaluyeh and beyond.
